Putting speculation she's gay to rest, Dolly Parton recently said during an interview for Nightline,"Judy and I have been best friends since we were like in the third and fourth grade."
"We still just have a great friendship and relationship and I love her as much as I love anybody in the whole world, but we're not romantically involved."

The 66-year-old, who wed Carl Thomas Dean in 1966 after meeting him at the Wishy Washy Laundromat, explained, "Like Gayle, her friend, Judy, my friend... [people] just think that you just can't be that close to somebody."
The similarities between the famous women, their best buds and the lesbian gossip that surrounds them hasn't gone unnoticed. The 9 to 5 singer went on to say she and Oprah Winfrey have bonded over finding themselves the subject of such persistent tabloid speculation.

Despite not being a lesbian herself, Dolly Parton is a proud supporter of LGBT rights, and she even hosts a Gay Day at the Dollywood theme park in Tennessee. Not everyone is so open, unfortunately.
"When it first started there were people giving us threats, I still get threats," shared the singer, who explained she has received threats from the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist group. "But like I said, I'm in business. I just don't feel like I have to explain myself. I love everybody."
