Sorry ladies, Matthew McConaughey may officially be off the market for good.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves will be tying the knot this weekend.
E! News has said that sources told them the wedding is taking place this weekend in Texas. The site reports about two dozen people were invited to a “weekend affair” and all staff hired for the event were made to sign non-disclosure agreements.
Matthew McConaughey is far from single though. He and Alves have been together for six years and have two children together.
“According to Alves [they] have been ‘living a married life’ for most of that time,” said the LA Times.
The couple was engaged last Christmas, and already have a two-year-old daughter and four-year-old son.
Alves is now 30 years old, and 12 years younger than McConaughey.
Magic Mike, McConaughey’s new movie, is out soon.
"I was running around with no shirt long before anyone was taking pictures of me,” McConaughey said of his, let’s say, qualifications for the film. “And I'll keep running around with no shirt on long after."
While the movie is considered by many to be a “stripper” movie, the men involved say it is more of a comedy than anything else.
However, we can wager that the women looking forward to the movie are looking for more than a fun comedy. The movie features a topless McConaughey, Channing Tatum and others.
The Internet Movie Database description makes it sound less like a comedy also. They description says “A male stripper teaches a younger performer how to party, pick up women and make easy money.”
Either way, a marriage for McConaughey will take him further away from the laid-back, carefree character we are used to seeing in every movie he is in. But maybe it’s time for him to grow up.
